Of Droughts and Flooding Rains

After roughly a week of rain, our creek has swollen and spilt over the banks.
Yesterday, when the rain paused for a while, we went for a walk to see how high had come up.

This is where our path is in dry weather.

Our neighbour's place, the tree line in the back round is where the creek is meant to be.

Again this is our neighbours place.

This is taken on the path to the creek crossing. However the crossing isn't even visible.

Rain and Mud Slides

A few weeks ago we had a new dam dug, and we have been waiting for the rain to fall.

After about a week of rain the dam was half full, and had a great Mud slide.

Then over night, It filled right up to the top!

Sadly all that water will soon be gone, We found the Dam has three leaks in the back wall,

And the top had started to cave in. Hopefully, the rain will stop so we can fix it before it fall down completly.

Randomness inspired by Lizzy, And a Conversation.

Erin: As you might know Lizzy is staying over for a few days, so we are having random talks about boiling men's brains, Inside out belly butten's and silliness in general. That's not the whole of it, but some of the weird things that have been said.

LizzyMostly its been decidedly strange with a touch of treachery.

Erin: Beware if you know Lizzy, she may have said something about you! lol
Mostly good, hopefully.... maybe

Lizzy: I have come to defend this noble cause of my consciousness, stateing my innocence in the clearest of terms.

Erin: But can she prove that she is innocent? Shall we ask her?

Lizzy:Perhaps not with tangible, solid proof. However my conscious is clear, and perhaps I have prayed for you instead. Maybe that is scarier. As Stephen said, if you prayed for people more often than you thought about them, more would get done. Entirely noble, however, somewhat impractical, trying to remember. Shall try

Erin: That should be enough proof for now, I hope. If you you belive her. ;) I belive her.
Now for a change...

Lizzy: Perhaps the motto, not particuarly wise, but decidedly interesting as stated by Luke; "Close your eyes and hope for the best, however not while driving," Interesting and worthy of random giggles. If you understand the female mind, which brings me to the worthy thought of men's brains.

Erin: yes, well, they are confussing at first, but we are trying to understand them. Failing that, someone thought it would be good to eat them. Why??

Lizzy: Not sure I would like to eat them. I personally do not like brains, though maybe it would increase your IQ????

Erin: prehapes.... maybe... I don't think so though. Maybe it would depend on the brain?

Lizzy: Now we are deciding if it is even remotely wise to try and publish this or just send it to some poor individual. hmmm.

Erin: Or just stop now, and use the excuse of being over tired??

Lizzy: Ah yes, goodbye from the two mad giggling professing wafflelators.

Erin: Till next time, this is (see above)

The Christmas season and the weeks since had flown by, and I let this blog fall silent for a while without even realising it. Many Blessings came to us this Christmas.
There is one I like to show you. Our new foal, Stella was born on Boxing day.
Here she is having a nap.

Another reason of even greater joy, is the news that My mother has now shared, so I am very, very happy to say, that come July I shall have a new little brother or sister! :)

Lastly I'd like to wish everyone a happy new year, I know its a bit belated but the year is still in its baby stages. May God Bless you all this year, and may you all grow in him even more.

Frying Pan's Theology

Snowflakes are falling
Gentle and slow,
Yougster say "Frying Pan
What makes it snow?"

Frying Pan, confident
Makes the reply-
"shake 'im big flour bag
Up in the sky"

"What! when there's miles of it?
Surely thats brag.
Who is there stong enough
Ahake such a bag?

"What parson tellin' you
Old mister Dodd,
Tell you in sunday-school?
Big pfeller God!

Him dive 'im bullock dray
Then thunder go;
Him shake 'im flour bag-
Tumble down snow!"

False Colours.

Georgette Hayer writes this intriguing if sometimes confusing book, False Colours.
when I first found it at my grandmothers place, the cover of the book, pictured here, and the description on the back, caught my interest almost immediately, when I open the cover and found written inside that it had been given to my Mum for Christmas 10 years before I was born, I was didn't put it down, but sat and started reading. When I came home, I brought the book with me, and have read it though twice.
The story is set in the world of Ladies and Gents, attending Balls, of stiff politeness and chivalry, a time many people have come to know though the works of Jane Austin. Though Georgette's writing style differs greatly from Miss Austins.
Kit Fancot, arrives home unexpectedly late at night, though not unwelcome. His Mother greets him, and he soon finds his visit home was very timely. His twin brother, Evelyn, has gone missing, and though not a unusual event, his mother is worried as he has a appointment the next evening to meet the family of his bride to be. All this is news to Kit, he didn't even know his brother was engaged. And only engaged to the girl, because it would enable him to pay of his mother huge amounts of debt. When Evelyn fails to show, Kit posers as his brother and saves his brother from disgrace, for them moment.
As the summer continues, Kit finds himself falling in love with his brothers Fiancee, Cressida.
The girl doesn't take long to realise Kit was filling his brothers place, and where she never loved the older brother she was beginning to return Kits feelings.
When Evelyn does turn up, with a broken arm, the brother must find another way to discharge their mothers debts.

She fell silent for a few moments; and as though she were carefully picking her words 'Lord Denville, when you did me the honour of asking me to marry you, we discussed the matter - we began to discuss the matter quite frankly. But we were interrupted, as I expect you recall, and there has been no opportunity since that day to resume our discussion' she raised her eyes to his face. ' should like to be able to do so before coming to an irrevocable decision' He had been regarding her over the rim of his wine glass, but set the glass down at this, saying involuntarily: 'I thought you had come to a decision! how is this?'
