Our new freinds.

Saturday morning, while I was busy helping Mum get everything ready for our guests that would be arriving for lunch, my younger brother, Nick, came in and told me two of the goats had wandered of alone. Now this would not be the kind of thing he worry about other then the fact that they were due to give birth in a few weeks. I didn't think much of it, after all they would often go of on their own, beside I was to busy to go and check them. A few hours later I went out to take the rugs of the horses. I looked around and saw the all the goats but the two who went off were there. Now I begin to think that perhaps my brother was right, but I was hurried so I didn't do anything about it. I went inside and dressed for Mass. After Mass our guests would follow us out. As soon as we were home I sent Nick down to check on them. Moments later he came flying back up yelling something. "Ah it seems he was right after all" At first it was hard to understand what he was saying because he was so excited. Well after some minuets I was able to learn that there was three new baby's. I also found out that both Mums gave birth in the same place, and it seems the same time. Now both goats take care of there own as well as the other mother's baby/baby's. Its rather strange but nice to watch them sharing and helping each other!
Now the kids are three days old and very playful. I had to get some photos to share.

The first one at the top is both the mother goats with the kids.

The twins, testing a falling tree trunk for fun.

This is the only photo I could get of the other one, He was a bit shy and was hiding behind Mama. But he seems to be happy to play if stood back.

And last but not least is the carpet snake that has moved into the shed roof. It must be warm up there or something.

A May Day.

Its been one of those days when you can not possibly stay indoors. The air has a cool feel, and yet it isn't cold. So I put on my boots and headed out to the Mary garden. Its a small garden which I began caring for a number of years ago. I'm afraid that over the summer it has been neglected some.
Firstly we had had so much rain, that the grass patch in between the three gardens, started to grow quite fast. The space is much to small for the mower to get into, and so i was on my hands and knees with a pair of grass cutters. I gave up on this soon, as each time I managed to get the grass short it would rain and the grass would grow and I'd have to start all over again! So first thing i did was get in there with my grass cutters and start cutting. Perhaps i should also tell why i dislike this job so much. The garden is a much loved home of the green ants! And because its is so very loved, it is also well protected. If you have ever been bitten by one of these little critters I'm sure you'd understand my hesitation. I'm very thankful to say that they left me alone today. I have also put in a few new plants, taken down a old fence, raked, lit fire to the dead branches, grass, ect that was laying about placed a chair in front of the garden and wedded. Off course I didn't do this alone though out the morning most of my siblings came out at one time or another and pitched in here and there. Even Anthony who is only 4 came and gave me lent some help.
Now I just have to sit back, and watch the new plants grow... well kind of, after I water and weed each day, And battle the grass, I guess I'll need to keep cutting that back.
After all that's done, then I'll sit down and enjoy the peace and quiet of the garden.

Prayer for a Child

About a year ago, I was sent a prayer by a friend. The purpose of the prayer was to save a unborn child from abortion. Each day for nine months this prayer is to be said. Each person that says the prayer is encouraged to name the child.

Oh my Jesus, through the intercession of Mary,
your mother, who bore you so loving, and
of St. Joseph, strong man of faith who protected

you both. I pray to you for the life of

_____________(Child's name)

The unborn child I have spiritually adopted who
is in danger of abortion.
Please give to the parents of this child the grace
and courage to bring him/her to birth
and to the life you have planned for

____________

Amen.

It was a few month ago now that I finished the prayer for the first time,
I now feel seeing as it was prayer that brought a child into this life, should it not be prayer that gets him though it?
Should I not keep praying for him and his parents as they try to live each and every day.
Not matter how good life is, there is always trials and hard times. I pray God blesses and protects him. For now he is still to young to know any of this, but one day he will. One day he will need those prayers, perhaps even now those prayers are helping him somehow.

First post!

So I've at long last gone and made a blog.
As the name implies, Its fate may be a awful bunch of rather strange posts. But I'll try to make it as interesting as possible.
The main reason I thought a blog would be a good idea was for those times when I would like to write rather strange, long, or just plain everyday thoughts. Perhaps I will write something worthy of reading every now and then, but I won't make any promises.
